Multi-state Reliability Theory

چکیده

One inherent weakness of traditional reliability theory (see eqr 340) is that the system and the components are always described just as functioning or failed. The first attempts to replace this by a theory for multistate systems of multistate components were made in the late 1970s. By the mid 1980s the basic theory in this area was established. The objective of this article is to introduce concepts of multistate systems and present some upper and lower bounds for the availabilities and unavailabilities, to any level, in a fixed time interval. A series of applications of multistate reliability theory have been suggested during the last years. For example, the theory enables one to consider applications in electrical power generation systems, where the system state is the amount of power generated by the system or in offshore gas pipeline networks where the system state is the amount of gas delivered. ∗ P.O. A New Continuous Multi-State Reliability Model with Time Dependent Component Performance Rate

A CSS1†is a system with the continues-state components. When a component has the ability to obtain all the situations from completely working to completely failed, it named continues-state component. In the real world, performance rate of elements are continuous and decrease by time. Continuity of components causes infinite working states and grows up the system states. In this paper we propose...

RELIABILITY-BASED MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMAL DESIGN OF SPATIAL TRUSSES USING GAME THEORY AND GA

This paper introduces a reliability-based multi-objective design method for spatial truss structures. A multi-objective optimization problem has been defined considering three conflicting objective functions including truss weight, nodal deflection, and failure probability of the entire truss structure with design variables of cross sectional area of the truss members. The failure probability o...

Solving a Joint Availability-Redundancy Optimization Model with Multi-State Components with Meta-Heuristic

This paper has been worked on a RAP with multi-state components and the performance rate of each component working state may increase by spending technical and organizational activities costs. Whereas RAP belongs to Np-Hard problems, we used Genetic algorithm (GA) and simulated annealing (SA) and for solving the presented problem and calculating system reliability universal generating function ...

The Reliability Analysis of Horizontal Vibration of Elevator Based on Multi-State Fuzzy Bayesian Network

Reliability analysis is one of the important constituent parts of elevator safety evaluation. In order to obtain the exact value of fault probability of components in elevator system, by combining fuzzy theory with Bayesian network approach, we proposed a reliability analysis method of multi-state system based on fuzzy Bayesian networks. By expanding the traditional two-state Bayesian network t...

Multi-state Two-Terminal Reliability: A Generalized Cut-Set Approach

This paper describes an extension of a classical network reliability problem to the multi-state case. The two-terminal reliability (2TR) problem assumes a network and its elements can be in either a working or a failed state. However, many practical networks are built of elements that may operate in more than two states. The major focus of this study is to develop a methodology for obtaining th...
